Powder metallurgy (PM) is a term covering a wide range of ways in which materials or components are made from metal powders.

PM can minimise material waste and reduce manufacturing costs compared with traditional methods. It also makes possible specialised materials that cannot be produced by conventional melting or forming, producing shaped components with a precision and efficiency that casting cannot match.
