Dolomite
Calcium magnesium carbonate for basic slag systems in low-hydrogen electrodes.
Dolomite behaves much like calcite but brings magnesia as well as lime. The magnesia raises the melting point of the slag and changes how it flows and detaches, which gives the formulator another lever to pull.
It is used in basic and low-hydrogen electrode coatings, in agglomerated SAW fluxes, and as a refractory raw material.
