Ferro Silico Manganese
A combined silicon and manganese addition, used as a deoxidiser in flux and electrode coatings.
Silico manganese delivers two deoxidisers in one addition, which simplifies a formulation and often costs less than adding ferro silicon and ferro manganese separately. The silicon and manganese work together, producing deoxidation products that separate cleanly into the slag.
It is widely used in electrode coatings, agglomerated SAW fluxes and in steel making where both elements are needed in the same proportion.
