Carbon Raiser
A carbon addition agent for steel making and for adjusting carbon in consumable formulations.
Carbon raiser — also called a recarburiser — is used to bring the carbon content of a melt up to specification. In electric arc furnace and induction furnace practice it is one of the routine additions, and how completely and predictably it dissolves determines how tightly carbon can be controlled.
It is also used in welding consumable formulations where the deposit chemistry calls for a controlled carbon addition.
