Four decades in, still run by the family that started it — which means decisions are made quickly and you can see the effect of your own work.
We are not a large employer. That cuts both ways: there is no graduate scheme and no rotation programme, but there is also nobody between you and the person who decides. People who join production or the laboratory tend to learn the whole process rather than one station on it.
The work is genuinely technical. Getting a ferro alloy to a consistent particle size distribution, or stopping ferrosilicon from picking up hydrogen in storage, is metallurgy and process engineering — not a production line.

Incoming material checks, in-process sampling, particle size analysis and the test certificates that go out with every consignment.
