Ferro Vanadium
A carbide former giving wear resistance and strength in tool steels and hard-facing alloys.
Vanadium forms very hard, very fine carbides. In tool and die steels those carbides give the wear resistance and edge retention the application depends on; in structural steel, vanadium micro-alloying refines the grain and raises strength.
In welding consumables ferro vanadium is used in hard-facing alloys and in deposits designed to match vanadium-bearing base metals.

| FeV 50 | 50.00–55.00 | 2.00 max | 0.30 max | 0.10 max | 0.10 max | 4.00 max | Balance |
| FeV 55 | 55.00–60.00 | 1.50 max | 0.15 max | 0.03 max | 0.05 max | 2.50 max | Balance |
| FeV 60 | 58.00–63.00 | 1.50 max | 0.10 max | 0.03 max | 0.05 max | 2.50 max | Balance |
| FeV 80 | 78.00–82.00 | 1.50 max | 0.10 max | 0.03 max | 0.03 max | 2.50 max | Balance |

Please note. These are indicative industry-standard ranges shown for guidance. Where a grade name encodes a nominal sieve or density, that is what the designation means in the trade — the size range actually supplied, and the packing, are set to your requirement and confirmed on your order. The binding specification for any order is the one on your purchase order and the test certificate supplied with the consignment — see how we test and certify a lot. Ask us for a datasheet for the exact grade you need.
